Yesterday we spoke about the legalization of online poker in Texas, and today I Would like to discuss the progress that other states have made. Last week in New York State Newsday had stated that there was a proposal for the legalization of intrastate online poker in the Senate’s recently passed budget. The applicable budget text reads, “The Senate supports authorizing and regulating internet gaming for games of skill, including poker, to reflect recent changes in the classification of these games.”

It seems that the Senators are both using the Court ruling that stated poker is a game of skill as case precedence. This is most likely the decision of the Brooklyn Federal Court, which took place in 2012.

There has been a lot of talk in the online poker review sites about Illinois; specifically the Senate Executive Committee passed a bill last week. This bill is said to call for the expansion of regular or land based casino gambling as well as online gambling, which includes poker. There is speculation that the online gambling can bring in one hundred fifty million dollars a year in Revenue to Illinois.

A lot of online poker forums have been saying California introduced a bill in February 2013. The online poker experts say that this bill calls for the Regulation of Internet Poker and Consumer Protection Act of 2013 and it is just two pages

There are 3 Hawaii Senators who introduced a bill in January on 2013 that would establish an Internet Lottery and Gaming Corporation and would develop regulations. The purpose of the bill is to bring revenue back to the state by the use of legal online casino’s.

The Internet poker review sites have been talking about Iowa; which is said to have received a preliminary approval, which never made it past the full committee. This bill would have allowed people to play online poker in Iowa and would have allowed people to play poker with anyone and anywhere.

Full Tilt Poker Declining?

American Poker Directory has read other online poker review sites have been talking about the ranking of Full Tilt Poker, Party Poker, and I Poker. Many online poker experts said that yesterday Full Tilt lost its position as the 2nd largest poker since their relaunched in November of 2012.

November 2012 was a very busy month for the online poker world because beside Full Tilt Poker Re-entering the Internet poker game, Party Poker merged with Bwin. According to the online betting experts who rank the poker site by how much cash game traffic it has, I Poker rose above Full Tilt and Party Poker.

Party Poker is now the second best online poker room. Their traffic peaks around 6,000 players each day. Their seven-day average player count is 3,300.
