American Online Gambling Update For Massachusetts

We have not heard much in the recent online poker news about Massachusetts. We have heard not stop about the American based company Ultimate Poker who launched their first legal American online poker room earlier this month.

PokerStars has been in the news as well; they are allegedly fighting very hard to get into the online market in New Jersey. What happened to all of the other states that were trying to legalize and regulate online gambling?

Other American states such as Massachusetts is said to be attempting to make progress this month. We have read on many respected sites that Massachusetts has made a proposal for the American States three land based casino and one parlor to offer online poker and other gambling games.

What would this affect me as a player? There are some good news and bad news. The good news is that you can gamble online legally within your respected State and not have to go through the process of transferring monies when making deposits and withdrawals.

There is some news that people who gamble online would not consider favorable. The tax rate in the proposal is allegedly twenty percent, which may be a bit on the high side. The online bill would not allow games offer online to mimic the State Lottery. If the bill passes we read on a popular American forum that the law wouldn’t go into effect until 2016.

Many American Poker Players are moving along with the 2013 World Series of Poker as they approach Las Vegas in the next few weeks. Currently we are reading online that the largest winners so far are Brent Hanks and Gavin Griffin. The victory took place during the Main event in California where Brent Hanks was victorious and won over one hundred fifteen thousand dollars.

The Mega Stack Challenge XXNIII Main event took place at Foxwoods American Casino, three hundred and thirteen people battled for cash and Mark Dube was the victor with an over seventy five thousand dollar victory. That isn’t a bad days pay, is it? In Nevada the Spring Pot of Gold Main Event boasted a pot of over forty thousand dollars; Cameron Smith was the victor.

This is an exciting time for all Americans because in addition to this tournament the WSOP National Championship has finished and Jonathan Hilton is the official winner. The WSOP National Championship took place in New Orleans at the Harrah’s hotel and casino.
